Introduction


In effective communication, the message is successfully delivered, received, and understood. While communicating, we should consider two crucial elements: the targeted audience and the goal. If we manage to bring the audience to the desired goal, it can be inferred that the communication was successful and effective.

 

The 7 c’s of effective communication


  1. Completeness of the message: The message must be clear and geared to the receiver’s perception, and it must be based on facts.
  2. Correctness and coherenceConcrete and coherent messages are easier to understand and more reliable.
  3. Courtesy to the receiversTogether with considering the point of view of the targeted audience it is vital to approach the audience in a friendly and courteous manner.
  4. Correctness of the languageUse correct language while communicating, and avoid wrong use of verbs and grammatical errors, especially in written communication.
  5. Clarity of informationClear language is characterized by explicitness, short sentences, and concrete words. Fuzzy language and cliché expressions should be avoided.
  6. Consideration of the targeted groupThe message must relate to the targeted audience keeping in mind the factors such as professional knowledge, level of education, age group, and interests.
  7. Conciseness of the messageThe message is clear when the storyline is consistent, especially while mentioning facts be concise, and use only supportive information.
